Our Story

RecPlan grew from the daily reality of leading recreation services.

RecPlan didn't start in a tech office. It started in a recreation department — in the daily reality of leading recreation services across long-term care and retirement living.

Planning, documentation, staffing, resident needs, reporting, budgets, compliance, and follow-up were spread across too many places. Calendars in one spreadsheet. Preferences in a binder. Assessments in a filing cabinet. Attendance on paper. Reports built from memory at the end of each month.

Something important was always at risk of being forgotten. A follow-up that didn't happen. A preference that wasn't honoured. A resident whose engagement was quietly declining. A compliance deadline that arrived without warning.

The work was meaningful — deeply meaningful — but the systems supporting it weren't built for the weight recreation teams carry.

What Changed

Program offerings increased by 137% — not by working harder, but by organizing the work.

Residents identified as at risk for social isolation were reduced to zero — because the system flagged concerns early.

More than 40 administrative hours per month were redirected from paperwork to resident support.

These outcomes shaped the systems, workflows, and priorities behind RecPlan. Results reflect a specific organization and are not a guarantee of identical outcomes for every team.

RecPlan began as a way to organize the work, protect important details, and return more attention to meaningful resident support.

It became a complete platform — connecting planning, people, calendars, attendance, staffing, documentation, outcomes, budgets, reporting, and AI support in one organized system.

Today, RecPlan serves recreation teams across long-term care, retirement living, rehabilitation, community services, developmental services, mental health, hospice, and education. It adapts to each organization's terminology, roles, workflows, and reporting needs.
